The results of the genetic test of athletic abilities of leading Estonian junior swimmer Kregor Zirk

Sports Gene helped junior swimmer Kregor Zirk to determine his athletic predisposition and food intolerance. On 11 May, daily newspaper Postimees published an article that discusses in detail the expectations of Kregor and his coach Kaja Haljaste regarding the genetic test and practical use of the results in planning Kregor’s future career.
Kregor, Kaja and our training consultant Tõnis Matsin analysed the results of the genetic test and made plans for the future. It is time for our junior athlete to focus on specific distances and thus the greatest expectation was to use the genetic test to find the best way to carry on. The results of the genetic test showed that Kregor had equally good predisposition for engaging in both power and endurance sports; the results also supported his previous experience, competition scores and ability to recover. Considering that, Kregor will now focus on middle distances, i.e. primarily 100m and 200m. We wish Kregor perseverance and stamina for future!
